  • Average running times of chained strace commands on my computer:
      strace: 3 ms
      strace strace: 22 ms
      strace strace strace: 171 ms
      strace strace strace strace: 654 ms
      strace strace strace strace strace: 6954 ms
Update: I upgraded my daily driver and the numbers are much better now! For example it finishes the last one at ~2400 ms.
